The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. "Holocaust" is a word of Greek origin meaning "sacrifice by fire." A lot of the Jews during the Holocaust lived in areas that Nazi Germany had occupied. After many years Nazi ruling in Germany, during which Jews were getting persecuted quickly, Hitler’s “final solution”–now known as the Holocaust, under the cover of world war, they had mass killing centers constructed in the concentration camps of occupied Poland.
The holocaust slowly evolved from 1933 to 1945. The Holocaust began mostly with the problem of discrimination. After, the Jews were separated from their communities and persecuted and finally they were treated as less than human beings and murdered like Hitler wanted. During ww2 the Nazis wanted to murder the whole Jewish population of Europe and to destroy its culture. In 1941 there were around 11 million Jews living in Europe. By the end of May 1945 the Nazis killed six million of them. One-and-a-half million of these were children.
